Monteverde was the last of the ISA sponsored trips. True to form, they put us up in a sweet hotel. It was a pretty big place--shuttles running up to the rooms and such. It also had a soccer court, WITH LIGHTS.
We got there late the first night, and fell asleep almost right away because the next day was ziplining (starting at 720). Andrew: "How do you say ziplining in english?".
The ziplines themselves were cool, but this tour also included a Tarzan swing, which was maybe the coolest thing...ever. Basically they strap you into a harness and shove you off a platform, you drop like 30 feet and then swing out over some trees. SUPER bueno. It was really fun.
After that, we went back to the hotel and went on a hike. It was short, but included some awesome views and we got to see a couple animals. They were called kua...something. Tom called them kuatamundis, which is the name that stuck with me. Turns out it isn't their actual name, though. Here's the group.

Here's me.
After the hike, we played some more soccer, washed down by some delicious beverages. Of the 40 oz variety. Anyway, it was a great night that included a pretty sweet prank. Mara and Alyssa left me, Tom, Whit, and Bret alone in their room (suckers). Naturally, we responded by putting their mattresses, including bottom sheets, on top of their beds so that their comforters, etc. were underneath. I'm told they struggled for like 20 minutes to figure out why they didn't have any sheets.
Next day we took a cool hike in el bosque nuboso--the cloud forest. We got to see the continental divide(see photo).
And saw some cool views.
This was the group.
And that was it! After the hike we headed back to San Jose.
